Bridge Reconstruction for New Interchange on Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) at Meacham Road
This project includes the reconstruction of Bridge No. 519 carrying Meacham Road over I-90 and the proposed eastbound I-90 CD road as well as the construction of Bridge No. 519A carrying Meacham Road over the proposed westbound I-90 CD road. The project also includes the reconstruction of Meacham Road, temporary and permanent erosion control, guardrail removal and replacement, proposed drainage improvements, reconstruction of an existing shared use, pavement markings and signage, Maintenance of Traffic, temporary lighting, and retaining wall construction along the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) at Meachem Road Mile Post 67.4 in Cook County, Illinois. The bridge will be lengthened to accommodate the new, wider I-90 and future ramps. In addition, a new multi-use bicycle and pedestrian path is proposed for the east side of the bridge. The new Meacham Road Bridge will include three lanes and full shoulders in both directions. The new steel bridge structure will include 17 beams supported by concrete abutments on either side of the roadway without a center median pier.
GSG’s scope of work includes field inspections and preparation of daily inspection reports documenting field activities, coordination of the material testing program with the testing agency, and review of test results for compliance with contract documents. Additional responsibilities include the submission of final project construction reports and documentation for all field activities and testing results.
